PHILOSOPHY

ORIGIN
The lotus flower holds deep symbolic meaning in various cultures and philosophies, representing purity, balance, and rebirth. Despite growing in muddy waters, the lotus emerges clean and beautiful. The cyclical nature of the lotus, blooming by day and closing by night, symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and the continuous cycle of life. It represents the idea of new beginnings and personal transformation.

The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness was founded with a profound commitment to the mental and emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and adults and helping them find their own paths. Drawing inspiration from the lotus flower, the practice embodies the journey of growth, resilience, and transformation.

HOLISTIC APPROACH

At The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness, we believe in the power of combining modern medicine and psychiatry with holistic healing to help children, adolescents, and adults awaken their true potential and find their own unique path to wellness. We seek to treat the body and the mind as a single entity by integrating traditional psychiatric medication management with psychotherapy, mindfulness techniques, sleep and nutrition counseling, lifestyle coaching, and laboratory assessments if indicated. This comprehensive approach combined with concierge style compassionate and personalized support aims to nurture mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We are dedicated to helping each individual navigate the complexities of life, fostering resilience and emotional strength to enable them to flourish in today’s world.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take health insurance?

The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness is a Private-Pay, Out-of-Network Provider

The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness operates as a private-pay practice, meaning payment is made directly for services rendered, independent of insurance reimbursement. While we do not accept insurance, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. Upon request, we will provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company. Many plans with out-of-network benefits reimburse 20-90% of session fees.

To streamline the reimbursement process, we recommend using Thrizer (https://www.thrizer.com/for-clients). Thrizer allows you to verify your out-of-network benefits, submit superbills, and manage reimbursements, helping you receive payments via direct deposit within a few weeks after meeting your deductible.

We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage, including:
   •    Whether you have out-of-network benefits
   •    Any deductible you must meet
   •    The dollar reimbursement amount for the following billing codes (all of which include the “95” modifier for telehealth services) listed below.

By understanding your benefits in advance, you can make informed decisions about your care without the stress of unexpected costs.

Initial Evaluation: 90792 (first two evaluation sessions)

Medication Management with Psychotherapy: 99213 or 99214 or 99215 (depending on complexity) and 90833 or 90836 or 90838 (based on psychotherapy time)

Individual Therapy: 90834
Family Therapy with patient present: 90847
Family Therapy without patient present: 90846

What is your cancellation policy or what if I miss the appointment?

Our 24-hour cancellation policy requires you to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 business hours prior to the scheduled time to avoid being charged the full session fee. For all appointments, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations under 24 business hours or missed appointments will be billed the full session fee. These charges will be your responsibility and billed directly to you. Please note that insurance companies do not generally reimburse no show or missed appointment fees. Please help us to serve you better by keeping your regularly scheduled appointment. For scheduling inquiries, please contact the office.

Since Dr. Joshi is also a pediatrician, can my child transfer medical care from their current pediatrician to her?

No, Dr. Joshi does not provide comprehensive pediatric medical services in this practice. The services provided through The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness include fully telehealth psychiatric services with integration of pillars of physical health including diet, sleep, exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness in addition to close collaboration with your child's primary care providers (pediatrician) for any extensive medical work up or referrals to specialists that may be required.

Do you offer in-person services?

Not at this time. The services at The Lotus Path Psychiatry & Wellness are fully virtual and serve clients residing in the following states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

What if I'm on vacation in another state that Dr. Joshi is not licensed in?

If you will be located in a state other than Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Rhode Island at the time of the scheduled virtual appointment, please call the office in advance to reschedule the appointment as Dr. Joshi will not be able to see you even via telehealth.
